If using an aisle runner
Pre-measure the runner from the front of the wedding site to the back, and roll out the same way.  Be sure it is well taped down as more wedding injuries are associated with white runners than anything else.

Unity candles don't work well out side.  But they make an excellent addition to the entrance of the bride and groom at the reception.
